Design Engineer - Project Admin
An innovative organisation in a specialist defence related industry is looking for a flexible and adaptable Mechanical Design Engineer/Project to join their team. The candidate must be a UK national and will need to pass security vetting upon employment
The Person
The successful candidate will be qualified to ONC/HNC (Minimum Level 4) or City & Guilds T4 or T6 in Mechanical Engineering, with a supporting EITB Approved Apprenticeship. You will have a good understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles and the ability to apply them in an analytical and methodical approach. A strong background in Design/Project Administration/Engineering is essential.
You will possess a good level of computer literacy, be proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel and Word. Knowledge of Solidworks/Inventor would be an advantage.
The desired person would also be flexible, adaptable to a range of working methods and processes, be well organised, able to communicate technical and practical concepts and be a team player.
Responsibilities:
Compile, monitor and update project plans and status reports.
Compile, monitor and update project engineering and procurement project files.
Provide technical and administrative support for specific projects.
Provide technical and administrative support for drawing and parts list release and modification.
Provide technical support during the procurement, build and test phases of specific projects.
Generate project procurement lists, raise project RFQ's and purchase orders.
Monitor and actively progress the project procurement process.
Be responsible for receiving project deliveries, goods inwards approval and assignment to the relevant project.
Undertake associated project duties as requested by Senior Management.
Experience:
Preferably 5+ years in a Mechanical Design/Manufacturing Environment.
Experience working within a project environment.
Ideally you will come from an automation, aerospace, automotive or precision engineering background.
