My client, a worldwide name within the canning automation industry are looking to add a field based product engineer to their ranks due to continued growth.

Overall purpose of role and results expected:

  • Provide on-site expertise and service to customers when providing commissioning, breakdown or preventative maintenance visits.
  • Ensure that all aspects of visits are documented fully to allow appropriate follow up;
  • When actioned as providing office cover complete this role with urgency – seeing each issue as a big deal and striving towards ending any customer pain as quickly as feasible;
  • Spend any other time in the office wisely – further own or others knowledge of products and procedures.

 Overall Product Engineers are the companies biggest and most visible brand ambassadors. Because of this it is vital that they conduct themselves in a professional, helpful and courteous manner at all times.


Reporting to: Customer Service Manager

Responsible for: No direct reports

Liaison with:  Many stakeholders including; customers, agents and distributors, internal colleagues, suppliers and partners

Key Accountabilities: 

  • To provide technical support on company products to include servicing, testing, installation, modification, user training and commissioning at any customer site.
  • To ensure that products are serviced and supported effectively, professionally and according to contract and process.      
  • To contribute towards the continual development and improvement of procedures, practices and approaches for product support and service.
  • To ensure that customer issues and technical problems and enquiries are dealt with promptly and effectively ensuring high satisfaction levels at all times
  • To discuss product and service satisfaction levels are with customers on site retaining care that problems and issues are reported back and effectively actioned.
  • To help to identify product opportunities at sites visited passing leads and opportunities to the sales manager.
  • Assisting other departments in trials, tests and customer demonstrations, producing reports as appropriate.
  • To ensure strict compliance with both the company’s, and all customers’ health and safety policies at all times, undertaking appropriate training as and when necessary

  • Maintain good and effective communication with all stakeholders, including internal colleagues, and work flexibly and positively as part of a small team within the wider workforce
  • To undertake regular personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, encouraging and supporting other team members likewise.

You will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall needs of the business as it grows, changes and adapts. There may also be a requirement for performing other roles when covering for holidays and sickness

  • Good communication skills both internally and externally to organisation
  • Well organised and good attention to detail



This is an international field based role that will see you travel to some amazing destinations along the way. You will be travelling on average 3 weeks out of 4.

All flights, accommodation & expenses will be covered throughout your working trip.

Starting salary of up to £35k doe + travel expenses + OT
