Mondays to Fridays 0800 - 1700 (potential to move to rotating shifts of 0600 - 1500/1300 - 2200)

Hourly rate: £12.80 per hour 

The successful candidate will work for a forward-thinking, growing logistics company based in Redditch, Worcestershire. The company provide global supply chain solutions, covering: UK Logistics, Time Critical Logistics, European Logistics, International Logistics, Customs Clearance, Warehousing and Distribution and Packaging solutions.

You will be responsible for: 

  • Ensuring an efficient Warehouse Shift whilst achieving agreed budgetary and service levels
  • To provide an effective and reliable service whilst meeting all legal requirements
  • Responsible for organising the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of Komatsu materials
  • Weekly / Daily resource planning to meet demand of activity of customer requirements
  • Monitoring the completion of tasks and ensure good performance recording data via KPI reports on a daily / weekly / monthly basis. Ensure KPIs are met by working to the overall plan. Review daily / weekly tasks to ensure quality and timescales are achieved. You will, via, Key Performance Indicators, aim to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors and ensure an excellent customer experience
  • Planning, co-ordinating and monitoring the receipt, storage and dispatch of Komatsu goods
  • Ensuring orders are processed efficiently and that the delivery of is in accordance with customer schedules and to quality standards
  • Ensuring inventories are accurate and controlling inventory levels by overseeing physical counts and reconciliation, utilising help of others in the warehouse team
  • Ensuring that any IT and automated systems are accurate and up to date
  • Identifying any systems improvements and making recommendations for change
  • Ensuring efficient and effective use of warehouse space and propose new design layouts to enhance operations and plan future capacity requirements
  • Continuously reviewing ways to aid efficiency, add value and reduce costs as well as supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring a best in class HSE performance is achieved and that the site operates in line with all company and customer procedures and requirements relating to Health and Safety and that risk assessments are carried out
  • Ensuring that staff comply to health, safety and environmental regulations and work safely to protect themselves and others in the warehouse environment.
  • Carrying out incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure
  • Ensuring any hazardous materials are stored in accordance with requirements
  • Monitoring and maintaining high standards of security in the warehouse as laid out in the Company Handbook.
  • Ensuring that MHE, machinery and equipment is well maintained and fit for purpose
  • Ensuring that all lifting and manoeuvring of product is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures
  • Driving company Absence Control Procedures to ensure maximum attendance levels
  • Managing time and attendance within Company procedures
  • Motivating and coaching the team to operational success
  • Consistently promoting high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them
  • Providing product expertise within team, and responding to operator queries
  • Interface with Logistics to determine schedules for shift activities
  • Liaising and communicating with other departments and ensure an effective interface is maintained
  • Giving direction and monitoring performance, ensuring the shift runs efficiently and effectively
  • Managing the standards and disciplines of the site by use of the 5S principles
