About The Role

As part of our clients expansion within their Merchandising team, there is a brand new vacancy for a Merchandiser to contribute towards the creation and implementation of the product strategy. Working closely with the buying team to deliver a product offer that exceed customers' expectations and achieves sales and profit targets. The client requires some form of experience within ecommerce and merchandise.

 Key Responsibilities:•Preparing of product budgets, and sales, profit and stock targets•Identifying new business opportunities to grow sales and profitability•Agreeing and deliver trading plans, to optimise sales and profit•Management of product life cycle on a weekly basis. Working with the Trading team to launch product, track vs forecasted performance, identify slow moving product and review how to improve performance•Developing a markdown strategy to reduce old stock, to drive trade, and maximise profit•Reviewing and agreeing a financial framework within which a balanced, commercial and profitable range is built•Work with the Buyer to ensure the range is balanced across brands and products.•Demonstrating a customer focused knowledge of the market and the competition•Reviewing sales and stock forecasts regularly to ensure stock levels are managed in line with trade•Working with colleagues in Operations and Buying to maximize flexibility throughout the season•Building and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers•Coaching and developing the team in technical and managerial skills•Encouraging an environment of open communication within the team and the building of effective cross functional relationships.

General office hours, Monday to Friday, flexi-time hours are available plus hybrid working with only a few days per week required in the office.                                                         

About You:

To be considered you will need to have:•Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel•Excellent Commercial awareness with an interest in product•Able to communicate in a way that drives confidence and buy in to ideas•Ability to coach, motivate and develop a team•Resilient, adaptable and able to multi task•Able to work under pressure and at pace•Ideally educated to degree level in a fashion or business subject.
