Job Description                                 

Ensure all tasks are managed within local time frames. You will be responsible for assisting arranging and completing all associated paperwork, which documents the nature of the

goods being imported or exported from/to abroad and that they are legal and legitimate.

Reviewing/Action Customs mailboxes
Good understanding of road freight processes including customs entry creation.
Knowledge of customs procedures codes
Imports are generally subject to import quotas, tariffs, trade agreements and HM Revenue and Customs regulations, so as a member of the team your role will involve checking all is in order in this respect.
The role involves being able to manage deadlines and sometimes difficult situations, therefore an element of negotiation is required in order to be able to meet timescales.
Helping to organise all shipments with our customers and their customers across the world, ensuring costs and documentation are as scheduled.
Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints.
Contact and organise services with our partners and suppliers on behalf of our customers.
Keep updated our database and online system, updating and adding all the information and documentation required.
Ensuring backlog is not over 48 hours
Dealing with internal and external stakeholders

                                                                                                 
Main Duties and Responsibilities                                             

Accurately enter data provided by our customers into customs software system.
Process improvements
Time saving initiatives.
Sense check data provided by our customers against required source and advise on potential errors.• Create Import/Export declarations through CHIEF (Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight)
Create Transit declarations through NCTS (New Computerised Transit System)
Deal with any queries effectively and efficiently.
Manage your own workload.
Direct liaison with Customs authorities such as HMRC & other agencies
Maintain/develop good working relationships with existing and new customers.
Establish an effective collaborative relationship with Operational team and maintain communication with customers on all customs issues.
Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities considered appropriate by the management of the Company.

Arrange cover for your role during leave.
Create GVMS records for Inbound/Outbound trailers
