About the company

Our Client is one of the country's premier suppliers of furniture hire, catering equipment hire and tableware hire to the events and hospitality industry. They are a nationwide company, with sales & distribution centres across the country.

They are in need of a strong WAREHOUSE MANAGER for the WALSALL distribution centre that can assist in coordinating, planning and delivering orders in a timely manner, under pressure in peak season.


About the role

A Warehouse Manager required to work closely with our Operations Manager, and build the team in the various departments in the warehouse to work closely with one another to streamline the process. Ideally, the candidate will have previous experience in larger warehousing settings that had various departments.


Responsibilities include:


Manage, train and lead a team of warehouse supervisors and staff.

Implement brand-new processes and procedures to ensure optimal performance within the warehouse and their departments.

Ensuring that stock is cleaned, prepped and ready to be put back into stock and for orders going out.

Oversee all the day-to-day warehouse operations, including the stock schedules coming in and going out for various jobs.

Manage the receiving and despatch of the warehouse.

Implementing policies and procedures for the various jobs/orders and the in-house transfers.

Pack and pull orders if required.

Load and unload vehicles if required.

Ensure that health, safety and hygiene standards are met within the warehouse.

Do stock takes on a regular basis, quarterly at least.

Overseeing the pulling and packing of the various departments' orders to despatch.

Maintenance and cleanliness of the warehouse.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience;


Previous managerial warehouse experience in a +/- 50,000sq ft warehouse.

Experience of working in a similar role.

It would be a bonus if you've worked in the event hire industry before and have a basic understanding on the stock.

An effective communicator between various departments.

Strong admin skills & proficient in MS Office incl Word, Excel & Powerpoint, and Adobe.

Demonstrate the ability to identify issues and provide feedback to the team, and being able to think on your feet and to rectify issues as and when they arise.

Be a creative problem solver who can demonstrate a strong initiative in a previous role and demonstrate the ability to lead in a changing environment, depending on the season.
