Job title: Supply Chain Manager
Reporting to: Managing Director
· Take ownership of supply chain management.
· Develop the best value supply chain for the business. Take charge of the spend and deliver a structured cost reduction program.
· Deliver customer promise dates for planning, scheduling, procurement and stores processes.
· Drive continuous improvement in supply chain processes.
· Overseeing product documentation, storage, handling and delivery logistics.
· Monitor and improve supplier KPI's.
· Develop inventory management strategies and control inventory levels.
This is a greenfield opportunity to consolidate planning, scheduling, procurement and stores activities.
Develop and implement the best value supply chain solutions where total cost is the basis for forming and developing a long-term relationship. (Supplier selection, measurement and development).
Improve contracted spend coverage.
Implement and monitor planning and scheduling processes. Accuracy in planning and scheduling is key. Experience with factory master is welcome but not essential.
Manage incoming and outgoing stock of materials, sub con and finished articles.
Solely responsible for supplier KPI management. Ensure that supplies are on time, at cost and at the desired quality level.
Manage internal key stakeholders.
Manage make v buy process.
Measure and report department KPI's.
Manage PO's end to end.
Progress shortages daily and ensure information is available for production meetings.
Hold regular meetings with key suppliers to review KPIs.
Other tasks expected to be carried out; including but not restricted to: solving invoice queries, managing return to vendor, FAI's, cost updates, lead time reviews and spot purchases.
Work in accordance with company processes and procedures.
Carry out any other tasks which may reasonably be requested by the company.

On time customer and supplier delivery, vendor base reduction, savings generated, and value added; quality of supplier relationships and consolidation achieved, effectiveness of procurement support to the business.
Managing strategic, operational and expedite aspects of procurement.
Improvement in supplier relationship.
All material requirements are fulfilled on time and in full.
Accuracy in planning & scheduling.
Coverage of contracted spend.
Education / Qualification
Qualified in a technical/engineering discipline, preferably to a degree level, but must have at least a strong engineering background and understanding.
Significant experience in estimating and buying within machining or manufacturing companies.
CIPS or equivalent diploma completed or pursuing.
Expert in excel and other MS packages.
Essential Skills and Experience
Strong communication skills.
Supplier negotiation skills.
Presentation skills, combined with the ability to articulate your point of view (including recommendations and challenges) to a wider group of stakeholders.
Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo.
Experience in a leadership role in supply chain, logistics or planning. Senior buyers, procurement specialists and senior planners can be considered.
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications. Knowledge gained from working in manufacturing or engineering environment.
