About the Role:
We are working with a reputable and forward-thinking accountancy practice in the South Birmingham area, who are seeking a Client Manager to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual who enjoys managing client relationships, overseeing accounts preparation, and working to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. As a Client Manager, you will be responsible for managing client deadlines, handling client queries, and supporting the team in delivering high-quality services.
You will report directly to the Senior Managers and Directors, playing a key role in maintaining the high standards of service expected by clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly liaise with allocated clients, managing their queries and ensuring all records are collated to meet deadlines.
- Review VAT returns prepared by the team and ensured accuracy.
- Conduct reviews of client accounts before they are handed over to senior management for final review.
- Prepare accounts to draft stage for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
- Prepare management accounts for clients when required.
- Conduct client visits at their premises to build strong relationships and gather necessary information.
- Assist other client managers with work planning and prioritising tasks.
- Prepare ad-hoc VAT returns when necessary.
- Support and help train junior team members, helping to develop the next generation of accountants.
Role Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience and competence in the following areas:
- Strong communication skills, both with clients and within the team.
- Experience managing people and leading teams effectively.
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise tasks in a busy environment.
- Confidence in liaising with senior management and working collaboratively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Fully qualified member of a chartered professional body such as ACCA, CA, CIMA, or ICAEW (via the examination route).
- A full UK driving licence is required due to the need for client visits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
