We are proud to be working with a well-established organisation operating in Bromsgrove within the professional services sector, with a proven track record we are keen to find an experienced accounts supervisor to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and review book-keeping activities for accuracy
- Review VAT returns for clients
- Prepare and review management accounts.
- Prepare and review financial statements and sole trade accounts
- Prepare and review corporation tax returns.
- Assist in drafting advice, with the support of Managers and Directors.
- Apply a strong understanding of personal tax for annual filings.
- Demonstrate knowledge of disclosures and their application.
- Manage a small portfolio of clients, ensuring their financial affairs are in good order.
- Serve as the first point of contact for your portfolio of clients.
- Communicate with clients regarding deadlines and other requirements
- Support Managers/Directors in meeting deadlines across Accounts, Tax, VAT, Payroll, and Company Secretarial.
- Understand the principal activities of your clients’ businesses.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information.
- Build strong relationships with clients, offering reliable guidance and support
- Provide assistance to clients on financial matters and the interpretation of results.
- Support clients in the development and setup of internal systems and controls, including the implementation of suitable accounting software.
- Confidently communicate tax and financial knowledge to clients, offering reassurance and clarity.
Attributes, Requirements, Skills:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience working in an Accounts Practice
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification
- Committed to maintaining high-level technical knowledge
- Competent in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Proficient in Xero
- Experience with Iris, Alpha, QuickBooks, and Sage 50 is preferred
- Strong general awareness of technology
- Self-motivated and adaptable to new scenarios
- Excellent people and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and focus
- Strong analytical and research skills
