Role Overview:
A prestigious legal firm is seeking a dedicated Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join their Residential Litigation Department. This role demands a professional with a minimum of three years’ experience in residential litigation, particularly within the realm of long leasehold matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Debt Recovery: Manage small claims, fast-track, and multi-track cases.
- Breach of Lease: Handle County Court and FTT actions.
- Forfeiture and Possession Proceedings: Oversee these critical processes.
- Lease Extensions & Variations: Execute and manage lease modifications.
- FTT Applications: Prepare and submit applications.
- Lease Analysis: Conduct thorough reviews and provide insights.
- Enforcement of Judgments: Ensure compliance and enforcement.
- Client Advisory: Offer expert advice on major works consultations, s20b notices, lease variations, lease structures, and notices of repairs.
- Pre-Litigation Support: Assist the pre-litigation team with queries.
- Business Development: Attend industry events and client meetings.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience: Minimum of two years post-qualification experience in the specified areas.
- Knowledge: Proficient in Civil Procedure Rules, leases, and judgment enforcement.
- Skills: Proactive, self-motivated, organised, and reliable with a strong academic background.
- Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Organisation: Strong organisational and administrative abilities, with a knack for prioritising workloads.
- Personality: Friendly, personable, and capable of handling sensitive matters and explaining complex issues to clients.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently or collaboratively, using initiative and sound judgment.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong IT and document management skills, with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems.
- Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with the Landlord & Tenant Act 1985/1987 (Long Leasehold).
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm.
