Position: Sheet Metal Worker
Location: Cheltenham
Salary: £20.00 per hour
Shift: Day Shift, 40 hours per week

Overview:
our client is seeking a highly skilled Sheet Metal Worker with a minimum of 5 years of experience. This role involves working with various sheet metal processes to form, adjust, and assemble precision components. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience using specialized tools and equipment to shape and finish metal parts to exacting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cut, bend, and form sheet metal components using both manual and powered tools such as shears, brakes, and presses.
  • Adjust and shape formed components using English wheels, shrink/stretchers, rollers, crimpers, and mallets to achieve the required contours and finish.
  • Read and interpret complex engineering and technical drawings to fabricate parts to precise specifications.
  • Operate sheet metal machinery, including press brakes, guillotines, rollers, and CNC equipment.
  • Assemble and fit sheet metal parts, ensuring all components meet the required dimensions and quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and setup of fabrication equipment to ensure smooth operation.
  • Collaborate with production and design teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency in meeting project timelines.
  • Conduct quality inspections of finished products, checking for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to tolerances.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines and maintaining organized tools and workspaces.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in sheet metal fabrication, including cutting, bending, shaping, and adjusting components.
  • Proficiency in using specialized tools such as English wheels, shrink/stretchers, rollers, crimpers, and mallets for precision shaping.
  • Strong ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity, with an eye for detail and precision.
  • Experience working with various materials such as aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of CNC machinery is a plus but not essential.
