Job Title: CMM Operator
Location: Redditch
Pay Rate: £17.44 per hour
Shift: Night Shift (Monday - Friday, 22:00 - 06:06)
We are seeking a skilled CMM Operator to join our team in the Machining Division. Reporting to the Team Leader, the CMM Operator will be responsible for the precise measurement of products to ensure they meet customer requirements and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure the safe and efficient operation of CMM machines.
• Understand the principles and applications of CMM technology.
• Deliver measured components in accordance with customer specifications.
• Influence machine utilization and "Right First Time" measures.
• Maintain product quality and batch traceability at all times.
• Conduct routine equipment checks and maintain daily check sheets.
• Accurately record all documentation as defined by procedures.
• Uphold housekeeping standards within the department.
• Perform and complete "First Offs" inspections.
• Collaborate with CNC operators by interpreting data and providing feedback on potential offsets.
• Verify measurements using manual equipment and CAD.
• Build and create new probe and DAT files.
• Conduct verification checks using the Master Artefact and Master Part.
Candidate Profile
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• Flexibility to work with minimal supervision across shift patterns.
• Forklift truck license and/or overhead crane certification, or willingness to undertake training.
• Solid understanding of engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC-DMIS software.
• Understanding of CMM principles and level one CMM experience (minimum).
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Excellent interpersonal skills to promote teamwork and achieve business objectives.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
