Job Description: We are seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our team on a fixed-term contract until December. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in accounts payable and ideally have experience using the IFS system. The primary responsibilities will include managing the purchase ledger, processing invoices, and ensuring accurate and timely payments to suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the purchase ledger efficiently and accurately.
  • Process invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Match purchase orders to invoices and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Prepare payment runs and process payments to suppliers in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with internal departments and suppliers to resolve any invoice or payment queries.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the accounting system (IFS).
  • Provide support to the finance team as needed.

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in using the IFS system is adventurous.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good numeracy skills with the ability to work accurately with numbers.
  • Attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancies.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to work well within a team.
  • Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar role is preferred.
