Job Title: Welder Fabricator

Salary: £30,000-£35,000/annum


08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday

08:00- 14:30 Friday


Responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and products by cutting, bending, and welding metal components together.

This role requires a combination of technical skills, precision, and creativity to interpret blueprints, work with various welding techniques, and produce high-quality finished products.


  • Interpret Blueprints: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand project requirements and dimensions.
  • Metal Preparation: Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, cutting, grinding, and shaping components, as necessary.
  • Welding Techniques: Utilize various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding to join metal components accurately and efficiently.
  • Fabrication: Fabricate metal structures and products according to project specifications, ensuring accuracy in measurements and alignment.
  • Assembly: Assemble fabricated components by welding, bolting, riveting, or other methods, ensuring structural integrity and strength.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, adjusting or repairs as needed to meet quality standards.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to welding safety guidelines.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and operate welding equipment and tools properly, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to troubleshoot issues, optimize designs, and ensure project objectives are met.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used, hours worked, and any modifications or adjustments made during the fabrication process.


  • Education: Diploma or equivalent. Additional vocational or technical training in welding and fabrication is preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a welder fabricator or similar role, with a demonstrated ability to read blueprints, interpret technical drawings, and fabricate metal components accurately.
  • Welding Skills: Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG and stick welding, with the ability to produce high-quality welds on a variety of metals.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and precision to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of metal components according to specifications.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues independently to overcome obstacles and ensure project completion.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and working in various positions and environments.
  • Safety Awareness: Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.
  • Teamwork: Effective communication and collaboration skills to work as part of a team and coordinate with colleagues to achieve project goals.
  • Certification: Welding certifications or qualifications from recognized institutions or organizations are a plus, demonstrating proficiency and expertise in welding techniques and practices.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements, timelines, and priorities while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and quality in all work performed.
